The Cape North Peterkrom Gold Project is strategically located within the world-class Ashanti Belt, one of West Africa’s most prolific gold-bearing geological formations, bordering Newmont Gold, secured under an 13-year mining licenses. This highly prospective region hosts a complex lithological assemblage, including metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks, quartz conglomerates, and quartz pebbles—key indicators of potential gold mineralization. The Ashanti Belt has been the foundation for major gold mining operations in Ghana, and Cape North's geological setting aligns with many of these high-yield deposits.
Extensive geological studies and aeromagnetic interpretations have confirmed that the Cape North Concession is situated along key structural trends associated with large-scale gold mineralization. The presence of northeast-trending structures in both the eastern and western portions of the concession suggests active hydrothermal fluid flow, a critical factor in gold deposition. These structural features mirror those found in some of Ghana’s most productive gold mines, including the Damang Mine (13.4 Moz), Tarkwa Goldfields (25 Moz), and AngloGold Ashanti (23 Moz), highlighting the region’s substantial exploration and production potential.
Further geological and geophysical analysis has revealed significant alteration zones within the Cape North Concession, particularly those enriched with potassium, which is a common indicator of gold mineralization. These alteration signatures coincide with magnetic anomalies observed in aeromagnetic surveys, further strengthening the case for gold occurrences within the concession. The presence of quartz-rich formations in the central part of the belt provides additional geological evidence supporting the potential for commercially viable gold deposits.
In addition to hard rock potential, the area hosts significant alluvial deposits, further enhancing its gold endowment. The strong structural control of mineralization, coupled with the region’s historical gold production, reinforces the prospectivity of this project.
